QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES

LOCAL 600 MEMBERS ONLY MAY ENTER

 

All entrants and films must meet the following requirements for consideration:
  • Entrant must be an active member in good standing with Local 600.
  • Only Local 600 members are eligible to submit their application and short film. The submission account must belong to the Local 600 member who served as the Director of Photography.
  • Entrant must not be classified as a Director of Photography with Local 600 or have worked enough days to rerate to Director of Photography.
  • Entrant must have served as the Director of Photography on the majority of the short film.
  • Films submitted must be no longer than thirty (30) minutes in length (including credits).
  • Films must be a stand-alone piece and not part of a bigger project.
  • One (1) film submission per Local 600 member is allowed.
  • Applications must be completed in their entirety.
  • Each member may win a maximum of two times. Entrants who have already been named an ECA Honoree twice are not eligible. However, those previously recognized with an Honorable Mention remain eligible to apply.
  • Submissions must be completed and uploaded by 11:59 PM (PST) Wednesday, February 11, 2026. We recommend an upload start time by 10 PM (PST) to meet the deadline.

***Failure to meet any of the above entry requirements will result in disqualification***

How to Submit Your Film Electronically on FilmFreeway
  1. All major video formats in full-quality HD (up to 10 GB) are accepted. See FilmFreeway’s technical specs & settings. Vimeo and YouTube links are also supported. See info here.
  2. Create an account at www.filmfreeway.com. If you don’t have a “Filmmaker” account, create one. It’s free!
  3. Log in, go to My Projects > Add a Project, fill in your details, and upload your project. If linking via Vimeo or YouTube, be sure embedding is enabled.
  4. Once your film is uploaded, log into your Local 600 member profile at www.icg600.com to access the FilmFreeway ECA submission link. (Note: The ECA page is private and won’t appear in FilmFreeway’s public search.)
  5. Click Submit Now, select your project, and complete the application.
  6. Check the box next to your entry category.
  7. Add to Cart and Checkout (no fee, but checkout is required to finalize).
  8. Check your email for a confirmation message once your submission is completed.
