Amy Faust | Operator

Amy Faust is an operator based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Amy graduated from the Wright State University Tom Hanks Center for Motion Pictures under Oscar-winning documentary filmmaker Julia Reichert. Prior to joining Local 600, Amy spent 10 years working in the camera department on documentaries, independent narrative films, and commercials. Her first union project was 2014’s Carol where she was given the formidable opportunity of pulling focus for Ed Lachman, ASC. Amy’s work can be viewed in Emilio Estevez’s The Public, Netflix’s Point Blank, and Hulu’s Boss Level.

Paying opportunity forward and protecting the work/life balance of our crews are passionate missions for Amy. She serves on the Guild’s National Executive Board and chairs both the National Health and Welfare Committee and the Central Region Women’s Committee. She teaches cinematography at her alma mater, instilling a love of cinema into the next generation.

Building on their past work, Amy and director Adam White created Photography as resident artists through the 2025 Tri-C Intensive Film Workshop. This Emmy-winning short film explores the themes of power and friendship. Shot on a Red Helium with Atlas Orion anamorphic lenses, the cinematography captures the grandeur and style of the 1960’s. Reviews hail the film’s “careful composition, beautiful cinematography, and insightful direction.”

Amy is grateful to her family, friends, Local 600, and the artists who have shaped her path. In her spare time, Amy is outside somewhere or buried under her kids, tickling them until they squeal! Usually both.
