A native of Southern California, Kyle Klütz’s interest in photography goes back as far as he can remember. With a patient demeanor and a keen sense of observation, Kyle feels at home behind a camera. After enrolling in Chapman University’s film program, he found himself volunteering all of his free time to helping out his friends and peers on set. Upon graduating in 2005 with a BFA in Cinematography, Kyle had compiled a healthy list of credits as cinematographer on numerous short films, music videos, and spec commercials. In February of 2007, Kyle joined the ICG Local 600 as a First Assistant Photographer. Working in the camera departments of numerous talented cinematographers, he has been able to continue his education as a filmmaker in a practical sense. His shooting career has continued to flourish as well, and has led him to Barcelona, Spain for a two-part miniseries. In 2013, Kyle was chosen as one of the 2013 International Cinematographers Guild Emerging Cinematographer Awards honorees for his work on Clark Baker’s short film Vessel. Being recognized by a committee of his predecessors and sharing the honor with a group of talented and creative peers is an honor he will not soon forget. While his career has thus far brought him much pleasure and opportunity, Kyle looks forward to future collaborations with both new and familiar faces.
